by Doreen Miller

On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, a white dog was rescued from the MBTA Commuter Rail train tracks behind the Encore Boston Harbor casino in Everett, Massachusetts. The rescue unfolded after two casino employees noticed the dog and immediately contacted 911, alerting authorities to the dangerous situation.

Upon arrival, Everett Animal Control officials discovered that the dog had a leash attached to the tracks, which appeared to have been chewed through. Despite the unsettling situation, the dog remained close by, likely due to its attachment to the leash.

An animal control officer carefully managed the rescue, while local police kept a watchful eye on the trains passing through the area to ensure safety. The dog was safely removed from the tracks without any injuries.

The incident is still under investigation, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact Everett police dispatch at 617-387-1212.

This fortunate rescue highlights the quick response of both casino employees and first responders, ensuring the dog was saved from what could have been a tragic situation.
