A beloved dog park and day care centre in Lurgan, known as The Dog Bark, has unexpectedly closed, with the PSNI attending the premises last night.
The closure was announced via a post on the business’s Facebook page, which read: “Attention, due to unforeseen circumstances we will be closed until further notice. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.”
Around 6pm on the evening of February 6, a number of vehicles, including PSNI cars, arrived at the Portadown Road location. Reports suggest the police were there at the request of the Northern Ireland Insolvency Service, which operates under the Department for the Economy.
The Dog Bark, owned by Brian Leathem, has long been a popular destination for dog owners in the area. The facility features several dog runs and swimming pools and had provided a valuable service for pet owners, offering a safe and enjoyable space for their dogs while they were at work.
The Department for the Economy and The Dog Bark have both been contacted for further comment regarding the situation.
